Nicola & Nathan’s Brighton Wedding

At the end of March I travelled down to Brighton on what turned out to be a clear but chilly day. It was Nicola and Nathan’s wedding day and they were going for a vintage look for their wedding day. It was a beautiful wedding and I could really sense the closeness and excitement from their wedding guests. Nicola looked fabulous (and of course Nathan too!) and both, they and their guests, were a pleasure to photograph!

Nicola and Nathan were very kind to send me a very sincere ‘Thank You’ letter after seeing their wedding photographs. They wrote …. “We just wanted to express our sincere thanks for the amazing job you did at our wedding day. The photos are superb and really tell the story of our day. You captured everything and everybody so beautifully and we are so grateful to you for photos that we’ll treasure forever.”

“To begin with it was really odd to be the focus of a large camera lens’ attention, but you made us feel so comfortable by how kind, funny and easy you were with us. You managed to get fantastic pictures of everyone (especially “difficult to photograph” people!). Brighton looks wonderful in the set – in some photos it almost looks like Paris – and we are particularly fond of the photos taken in the grounds of the Pavilion.”

“We were going for a real vintage aesthetic for our day and the photos really capture that too – many people have commented on how the light and composition of many of the photos, especially those showing Nicola arriving at the registry office in our little car, make it seem as if they’re actual photos from the 50′s or 60′s!”

“In short, thank you so much Rob. We’ll treasure them forever and can’t thank you enough for the fantastic job you did.” Nicola & Nathan

Here are a few photographs from their wedding day….

Maternity Photography

At a recent ‘maternity’ photography session I was asked by one of my clients if it was possible to shoot a silhouette? Why not, I thought, and we gave it a go! Using a giant ‘softbox’ (nearly 2 metres across) I placed my subject in front of the light and we captured some interesting shapes! The clients loved the results and it’s surprising how something that started off in the Victorian age has come around to the digital age.

If, up to now, you haven’t thought about have a professional picture taken of you and your ‘bump’ then why not get in touch with us here in the studio. You are more than welcome to bring your partner and, if applicable, your other children too. Maternity portrait sessions are a bit of fun and are free.

Wedding Show Update

Robert Waite Photography's Display Stand at the Heart FM Wedding Show

Last weekend (18th & 19th February) was Heart FM’s Wedding Show. It was a very busy weekend and I got the chance to meet some lovely couples planning their weddings. Heart FM certainly put together a very well produced wedding show and there really was something for everybody there. It was also great to meet up and have a chat with the other exhibitors too as I very rarely get a chance at the weddings themselves!

I normally find at each wedding fayre I exhibit at that on that particular occasion there’ll be 3 or 4 wedding venues that seem to be the most mentioned. At this wedding show there was so many wedding venues mentioned to me including the show sponsors Stock Brook and  Three Rivers and also Orsett Hall, Boreham House, Castle Hedingham, Braxted Park, the Fennes, Gosfield Hall, Leez Priory, Spains Hall, Reid Rooms, Newland Hall and Quendon Park being the most mentioned! There was a few I hadn’t heard of and even a couple who were getting married in Poland.

Many congratulations to Nichola & Paul who were the first couple to book me at the show itself on Saturday morning. Their wedding is to be held at the church in Writtle then onto the very lovely Ivy Hill of which I’m a recommended supplier.

This coming weekend, 25th & 26th February, Robert Waite Photography will be at Debenhams Lakeside at their in-store wedding fayre. Debenhams are promoting their wedding gift list service along with their personal shopper service. Come along and say hello to us and have a chat with the girls from the Debenhams wedding department. They quite often have a bottle of bubbly to give away!

I look forward to seeing you there!

Wedding at The White Hart Great Yeldham

Just before Christmas 2011 I photographed a beautiful wedding at The White Hart in Great Yeldham. It was Kim and James’ wedding and they both had a really fantastic day.

Kim looked stunning in her bridal gown and, as to be expected, very excited about her day. The sun was shining too on this crisp December day.

I’d photographed Kim’s sisters wedding a number of years back along with quite a few of their friends. So it was lovely to see so many faces that I’d photographed before. A really great crowd.

During the wedding ceremony itself there wasn’t  a dry eye in the house. Even the registrar had to take a minute to compose herself at one point. I hadn’t seen that before. Kim & James make a lovely couple and the love between them can be seen a mile off.

A lovely touching wedding that looked fantastic. The banqueting suite looked stunning with lots of attention put into the details on the tables. Christmas trees, christmas decorations and a delicious looking cake display too.

Congratulations to Kim & James and heres hoping they have a great time on honeymoon too. I sure they will!

Here are a few pictures from their very special day. Enjoy!
